Carriage on the right
Set up for tuck. Main bed levers at '=' on the right and '='
on the left side
of the main bed carriage.
*Using a 3x1 comb start with the second (2nd) needle from the right side
edge,
pull that needle and every third needle to "E" position (holding)
Knit four (4) rows.
With the flat edge of your pusher com, push the needles in "E" position back
into "D" position.
Using 3x1 comb start with the fourth (4th) needle from the right side edge,
pull that needle and every third needle to "E" position.
Knit four (4) rows*
Repeat from (*) to (*) until you have knitted 276 rows.
You will have to reposition the cast on comb and weights during the knitting
process. You don't want the weights to touch the floor.
Set the machine back to 'normal knitting' '-' on the right side and '-' on
the left
side of the main ed carriage.
Knit one (1) row over all stitches. Then rack to "P" and
transfer all ribber
stitches to main bed. Bring the same needles you just emptied on the ribber
bed back into working position. RACK back to "H" 4.
Change stitch size to
8/8. Knit across all stitches again.
Uncouple the ribber carriage and run it across the ribber stitches causing them
to drop. This creates a very large stitch on the main bed.
Drop the ribber bed down and out of work.
Change the sinker plate on the main bed carriage for single bed knitting.
With contrast yarn knit 10-12 rows.
Remove work from machine.
Using your latch tool, work from the edge opposite the main yarn tail.
Put
your latch tool in the first stitch loop of the main yarn. Grab the next
loop
and pull it through the loop on our latch too. Work across the entire edge
pulling the main yarn tail through the last loop.
Remove the contrast yarn.
Pull & stretch your work to set stitches and throw it into the washer and
dryer
on the delicate cycles. The blanket is finished and the laundry process
blocks the blanket for you.
Experiment with more or less stitches to create other sizes of double bed tuck stitch afghans.
Enjoy!
